Never Tell Me The Odds!
We’ve all heard the statistics before. But, if you are like me and Han Solo, you probably don’t want to constantly hear these odds. I want to believe that with hard work, the right coaching, playing on a travel team and of course constant “encouragement” by me, Zach can make all his dreams come true and be a professional baseball player.
According to the odds, it is extremely unlikely that any of our little ball players will make it the big leagues. Maybe I should write these odds on my palm before I enter the park.
- Less than 1 out every 15 kids playing little league and youth baseball ever make their high school baseball’s varsity team.
- Less than three in 50, or about 5.6 percent, of high school senior boys interscholastic baseball players will go on to play men’s baseball at a NCAA member institution.
- Less than eleven in 100, or about 10.5 percent, of NCAA senior male baseball players will get drafted by a Major League Baseball (MLB) team.
- Less than 1 out of every 15,000 little league or youth baseball players ever make a MLB baseball team.
If this is the case, I hope that I can encourage Zachary to enjoy his baseball days, however short or long they may be.
looking forward to another great article. good luck to the author! all the best!http://www.notebok.org
